Default trouble with my vacuum lines

i took my intake manifold and camshaft assembly off to clean them up and detail the engine bay, but now that im putting it back together it seems like im missing a piece, even tho i labled everthing i forgot to take pictures, all the hoses are there but they just dont seem to fit right. Its not a natural fit, like some of the hoses have forced bends in them. Does any one have a pic of an early car with the intake manifold off but the all the hoses still atached or a vacuum diagram that shows the connections.?

Thanks
-Saul

I'd recommend replacing the vac lines while your in there with aftermarket units (e.g. http://www.lindseyracing.com/mm5/mer...=944VACUUMLINE)

Here's a picture of the vac routing for a late N/A, but I'm nearly 100% certain the vac line routing is the same for early and late 8-valve 944's (excluding 951). The vac lines are the dotted ones with the things that look like small hoses at each end:

I believe I've highlighted all the vac lines...then again I don't have an N/A so this just seems like there are so few lines!

Late car (barely - 85.5) but maybe these will help. At least the vac lines are easy to pick out.

What effect does replacing the vacuum lines do? Also, Collin, do you know where I can find a diagram for a 951?

I saw this the other day: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...176732833&rd=1

Think that's worth the cost?
Thanks!

If you have bad lines (I just did my clutch and while removing the speed/ref sensors noticed all my lines are super brittle) and you get a vacuum leak, it can cause your car to run like crap, maybe even not at all depending on the line. I am actually surprised that my cars runs so well considering the condition they are in- but when I replace them I expect it to be a bit smoother. Actually, I'm surprised my car runs at all given the mileage.

Usually the rubber ones are in good enough condition that they do not warrant replacing, and if they do it is usually only a single hose or so. I'd say get the lindsey racing kit for the smaller diameter vacuum lines and then get some of the purosil stuff if any of your larger hoses need replacing. If nothing else, you now have the option of red or blue lines.

Which lines was the OP talking about, the small lines or the large hoses? I would be surprised if you could not get the small lines back on so they fit correctly. I could see a potential problem getting the larger hoses to fit correctly. (The diagram provided is for the small lines).

If this is a vacuum lines issue, I have a video of the run through, check it out to make sure everything is setup right:

Thanks
