resurfacing place in oakland ca?
Hey does anyone know of a good place I can go to have my flywheel resurfaced?
Both my cars are down right now so Ill have to walk, bike, or bus to have my flywheel resurfaced. How much does it normally cost, and how much time does it usually take?

I can't speak for an eastbay shop but my local engine machine shop does the resurface while you wait and takes about 20 minutes and $35. Heads and blocks always take longer as the machines are spoken for days in advance...the flywheel is a snap for most shops. Good luck hauling that anchor on a bicycle, it ain't light!

My local machine shop charged me $25 and the turnaround was like 2-3 hours. It was a crummy shop and a lazy guy, low overhead, etc so expect results more like Steve said at most machine shops.
I don't know of any shops in Oakland specifically. Try the phonebook - that's how I found my new machine shop, who are a bunch of pros!
