It's time to call in the myth busters.

obviously the calculator doesnt account for traction loss, but if I stripped my 944S down to race weight it claims that my car could do 0-60 in low 5's high 4's. Now that is something I would consider!

Your n/a can do 0-60 in 4-5 seconds? That's weak. Mine did it in 2.7 when I launched it off a cliff.

lol

You might get into the 6's if you stipped the entire interior, had 93 octane, and ran open headers downhill with a tailwind. And cut down on burritos for a week or so (THIS MEANS YOU JUAN).

This is about right...with my current car plus me it run around the high 7s.
0-60 mph: 7.707578843648679 seconds

Now if I put an LS7 in...
0-60 mph: 3.180975537575484 seconds

Of course, that's assuming you have traction the whole time and decent gearing for it...

It gets pretty wonky in the heat, yea.

And my tires are slightly different in diameter compared to stock ones.

thats not completely true, if you have a chip to raise the rev limiter to 7000 you can reach exactly 60mph in 2nd gear, but in this situation your right.

btw, for those of you saying stopwatch i have an 83'

haha, i had been wondering about the speedometer since i started this post and its confirmed, the thing is 5mph off!! luckily san francisco is full of radar equipped speed limit signs that tell you how fast your going. i was driving past one, my speedometer said 40, the radar display said i was going about 35. something i had always wondered about because when i drive my truck, regular traffic tends to flow at around 65-70mph, and when i'm in the 944 i have to drive 75 just to keep up.

so lets see..

more accurate representation..

0-10 in 5.5 seconds.. that sounds about right.

I always thought 50-80 seemed more relevant in the real world.

OK, what is the top speed in 2nd when bouncing off the rev limiter? I always want to look down but then I screw up and get a DNF on the course. I bounced off it once on the street and it read 62mph, but I have 16" wheels for the street and I'm sure my speedo is off.

BTW, my seat of the pants 0-60 is about 4.5 seconds but I removed the power steering pump and cat.
