Default Timing Belt roller

Putting the timing belt back on today I had the outside washer key break off. If someone could post a timing routing picture I'd appreciate it so I can better explain what happened. I want to know if the washer will be held on fine without the key to prevent the belt from coming off.

Not sure what you mean by 'washer key'.

It's the upper balance shaft sprocket according to paragon's picture. The top belt top gear. It has 2 keyways. The keyway by the 0 is placed away from the woodruff key, and the washer with a key goes outside the gear, before the bolt and washer. The key that goes into the gears second key slot broke off. I think I'll be fine but I just want to see if this caused a problem for anyone.

I tried to make up a picture in paint to see if anyone gets it from that. Assembles from left to right!

O.K. the BS belt sprocket. The washer is a belt guard - I believe it is only there to make sure the belt can't 'walk off' the sprocket. As long as the sprocket itself is aligned correctly, it shouldn't matter that the key broke off the belt guard. Be sure to use loctite on the bolts...

Already used loctite on the bolts! Timing covers are on and everything up to the injectors are hooked up. I think I just need the radiator in and snorkel on and I'm done. I'm planning on finishing up the car this weekend. Thanks a ton for the reassurance!

Wait, locktite on those bolts?

Mine were just torqued on dry. I've run the crap out of them at the track and they seem fine. Hmmmmmmmm.

AllData (Computer program with data on like every car ever) said to locktite them. Also gives like all the torque specs but gives it in Nm and my torque wrenches are in Ft/lbs or In/lbs D;\
