S2 under nose panel questions
Took my nose panel off the car today, just cleaning up things as I'm waiting on my arnnworx tools to come to procede with the teardown. Looks to be some jerry rigged things here and there, and I want to fix some of it. Can I get rid of the two things I am pointing to in the pictures? I atleast want to delete the aluminum sheet at the front of the car, because you can see it through the bumper and it's an eye sore. Just wanted to make sure this wouldn't like, ya know...blow the car up or anything. lol
Also seems as if the aluminum sheet is blocking the air flow from the ducts in the bumper. I know the black piece is the radiator air block or something, but would it hurt anything if I took it out? I don't suppose it will...but never know.

My S2 does not have that, Get rid of that. If you look at the airbox it has kinda a ram-air effect to it. Your PO was very dumb for putting that in there. See ya next week! Oh yeah what are you doing to the car? I will be able to lend a hand if I have time over the weekend

I didn't know if that sheet was factory, but it's coming out for sure! I don't have the stock air box, PO put in a K&N...so that explains that. I do however want to try to rig it up so I can retain the K&N, but have the stock box...that way I retain the minimal inscreased power from the K&N, but we'll see.
The funnel on my washer fluid is kind of like an overflow tank. Has a drain on the side of it, catches any overflow I suppose.

Cory,
Get the stock air box and stock paper filter as you get more power from that set up than the K&N as with the stock filter its about the size of the front header panel whereas teh K&N is a cone filter and takes up less space about half. Also when I was at the dealer we alot a few cars come in with there Check Engine lights on and it was the MAF in the cars gone bad due to the K&N air filter.

I do want the stock box. I think it looks neat, and I want the car to appear factory, with minnimal upgrades. Such as lowered a bit, wheels, front splitter, powdercoated valve cover. Some simple nice touches, nothing extreme or stuff that isn't easily removed.
I have kind of searched around, and they seem hard to find, but I will find one sooner or later.

Well, got it all cleaned up mostly under the nose panel, and snapped some more pictures. The one black piece I'm holding doesn't have a cut out on the left side where I always thought a square tube off the factory air box went through, but I'm only speculating. I also threw in some pictures of the "air dam" lol.

Cory,
I have an S2 that am putting a turbo motor in so I do not need my stock airbox plus also have powder coated cam cover and other items you might be interested in. Let me know and we can work something out.
