Default Santa Monica, CA Mech for PPI

I think I will make an offer on this car:

http://losangeles.craigslist.org/wst/car/277157641.html

Of course this will be pending the results of the PPI.

Can someone in the area recommend a good place to get one done? I know that Michael (NineFoFo) had one, but I have not heard from him for a bit. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Also, what would you guys say is a good starting offer for the above listed car?

Thanks.

Cory

I wouldn't call it a great deal at $9500, something around 7/8k would be much better.

Also I think I've seen that car on CL for a while now, so you should be able to bargain with them.

Based on the new parts and the mileage, and if it has no problems or excuses, I'd say the price is fair. Especially if he really has owned it since 9000 miles. If the PPI goes smoothly, I'd have a hard time thinking of a way to bargain down the price, except of course the generic ball breaking stuff.

I'm sorry but I don't know any good mechs in SoCal yet.

Default Good Deal? Possibly

To me this looks like a pretty good car and I am sure the PPI will bear that out (God, I hope so). Once NineFoFo comes back online he will recommend a good one for me as he lives in the area of Santa Monica...

Ran the carfax on the 86 951 in Sac-Town for $9200. It shows the car as having frame damage and accident indicator. Not too sure about that one.
