Wonky temperature gauge
Can a wonky temperature gauge be replaced individually or does the whole cluster (with the speedometer, temperature gauge, etc.) need to be replaced?
Looking at a 951 with this problem. Just trying to see how easy/expensive to fix.
Thanks!

What exactly do you mean by wonky? Does it just not read at all? Or does the temperature fluctuate around a lot?
If the gauge seems to be misreading and the temp goes all over the place it could be a bunch of different things causing it, like bad grounds or bad temp sensors, etc.

Sounds like you may have bad grounds. Either your ground wires are loose or corroded. Try that first as it costs nothing. Not sure of the year of your car but the latter is most likely. My 2 pennies.

Is a 88 951 Im looking at. Owner says gauge flickers sometimes, but it is not because of overheating. I hope it is a bad ground or connection. But I will have a PPI done on the car if I go through with it. Thanks.

Three Wheelin'
My gauge used to flicker up and down at times. Upon examining the wires at the sensor, I could see some of the insulation had worn away and the wires were very close to touching each other. I put some heat shrink tubing over the connectors and spread the wires apart a little. This along with new battery cables made my gauge work correctly.
