Turkey baster?

You could also loosen one of the banjo bolts on the pump.

why not just unbolt the tube below and let it drain out? Or twist off the spray cap from a windex (or similar product) and stick the straw part in and then just keep spraying the stuff out........worked for me once when I overfilled the brake reservoir.

what about the stuff that's already in the pump?

i assume it's some terrible mix of ATF/and regular power steering fluid.

roger- yeah, i was thinking of just unbolting the tube...

Juan isn't the only one with that same problem. Guess who else didn't look at the manual and just assumed.

BTW, it seems to run just fine with it in there. I drove it more than once with no apparent problem. I haven't driven it since I discoverd my error though.

yeah, that's the thing, i have no problem driving the car otherwise, and my steering problem persists, but i'm guessing i got worse with the fluid thing?

The way I did it was to remove the belt off the pump, get a coffee can, and open up the banjo bolt and drain all possible fluid. Spin the pulley to pump out more fluid. Now would be a good time to replace the reservoir... in any case, I filled it up back up with ATF and spun the pump by hand to circulate the "cleaner" fluid, then drained again. Last time, fill it up, spin the pulley to fill and check reservoir level.

So I suppose you don't want to hear that it's actually 'dummkopf'?
