There is someone around here with a Porsche tattoo.
For tattoo horror stories, when I was stationed in Texas, one of the guys in my SF Flight had a tattoo of the beret in front of crossed M-16's. Problem was the guy stretched the skin when he made it, so when you let go, the barrels drooped. What a shame. It was real nice otherwise.

Sounds like fun. Search I think there was a thread not too long ago.
Here are a few options. Depending on how detailed/skilled your tattoo artist.
I have seen some real crest style'd tats but those take real skill....and you get what you pay for.
