According to the original owner that was how it was when he bought it. Also, there are no centercaps with the rims? I have the recaro drivers seat and the passenger seat is a regular seat with no power whatsoever. Is that what you also have? My car has no radio and no speakers, just the grills. Have you looked to see if there is any wiring for the radio or speakers? Not that I'll be installing a radio, just curious.

Thanks....

Jay
I bought my car new from Porsche Motorsport North America, which was run by Holbert at the time.

My car is Alpine white, and the hood is very definitely a different color, which I assume is Grand Prix White. Probably a simple factory mixup that they didn't bother to correct.

There were centercaps, painted pearl white just like the wheels. I have mine, but I'm sure on the other cars, they were removed the first time the wheels were attached to a tire changer or balancer, and never seen again!

My car came with the seats you describe, and no radio. I've never looked to see if speakers were there, but I'm sure they are not.

BTW, I have always run 245/45-16 tires on all four wheels, seems perfect that way.

The color difference is very obvious in this photo (it's less obvious in person, most people don't notice):

I ended up buying the new set of wheels with the unused Pirellis slicks. If I were to ever show the car (unlikely!), those would be the setup to have.

I'll have a beat-up set of the magnesium Turbo Cup wheels for sale shortly.

Also, I see that the heavily modified #105 Turbo Cup car is listed in the classifieds here http://mall.rennlist.com/scripts/fea...uery=retrieval

Here's a picture of Dave Roberts' car from the Road America Club race this past year. I was on the pole and Dave was right next to me. We had a great battle for his first stint in the enduro. It's a fast car and a he's good driver.

I also probably have pictures of Ron Tietjen's car somewhere

I have just listed a set of the magnesium Turbo Cup race wheels on ebay (and three other sets of Porsche wheels).

In all likelihood, its not a a "saveable" piece, but given how rare they are, I'm certainly not going to be tossing it. If I can make it presentable, I will put it on my '87, if not, its a display item in my garage.

Thanks for the quick response!

Regards,
I would also like to see the brackets that are under the hood, and how they are mounted. Thanks if anyone can help.

Yes, whatever type of sheetmetal (bracket) it is that the hood pin mounts in. Basically, just a picture of the area right behind the headlight, with the hood up. Thanks for the quick response.

That wasn't a hijack- I'd like to keep this thread active as the place to discuss these cars, rather than starting a bunch of little threads.

So any questions or comments about Turbo Cup cars, this is the thread to go to!

Matt- could you maybe post the pics you're talking about...? I'd like to see this, as I'd like to do a CF hood one of these days, IF I can find one that is finished well enough for a street car. It's sort of a long-shot at this point, but still- would like to see the pics...

thanks,

My car is up on a storage lift, but if Matt doesn't post his photos in a day or so, I'll climb up and take a couple....

I have photos of the factory brackets and pin arrangement, but they aren't on this laptop and I am not near my main computer that they are on. Can post them up in a day or two if no one else has.
