Default Drivers Side Window Rattle.. Need Ideas on alternate Fix!!

Ive noticed a rattling sound coming from the drivers side door. I think this started when I brought my car in for an inspection.. im not sure what it is but i assume something is loose in the door. Is there a way to get into the door to check for it? I know there is a took to remove those pegs that hold the interior of the door on.. but I was wondering if this can be done w/o any extra (strange) tools

Okay.. so i took apart my drivers side door and i found that one of the window runners fell off.. thus the rattling. My problem is.. it looks as if the runner was tacked on (welded).. because there are no screw holes. At 7pm at night on a sunday.. i dont know any places that are open to get it re-tacked. Does anyone have an alternate solution? thx

I assume the "runner" is the liner of the channel that the window glass slides in. I think that is originally glued in place.

I read about a fix for this some time ago. You can put the runner back in place and drill a hole through it and the channel. Then slip a pop rivet in there and tighten it down. That will hold it in place.

Oooh that would have been a good idea..

I actually got it to stay in place with JB Weld.. lots of it. All i hope is that it stays there because that was one annoying job.. took wayyyy too long

Is it the metal channel near the back of the door with the rubber strip inside of it? It is not glued on, it is spot-tacked on at the top and the bottom. At the bottom, there is probably a small 1mm or so hole in the door where the tack spot pulled out of the door, and also a small hole near the top on the bracket (it's behind the window near the lock). JB weld isn't going to hold it long. A very small pop rivot, or screw/nut combo, is the way to go. You will need to drill the channel piece out where the spot weld used to be so that there is a hole in that as well for the rivot to go thru. The door card will need to be removed for this again.

Best of luck to you....

i just fixed dales door, had that same thing happen. I drilled the holes out and welded it up,then welded alittle extra to make sure it didnt happen again.
