There are a lot of good posts from the MT-90 one, i am even putting one in my list when i order today.
Currently i have Fuchs 75w-140 synthetic (or something), it's **** when cold and okay when warmed up.

I ran Amsoil 75W90 in my 86 944, it was an amazing difference from whatever crap the PO had in there. Whatever it was was burned to hell, and full of metal filings.
With the Amsoil it felt like new for at least 10,000km's until the transmission figured out how much metal it was missing, and started grinding when shifting to second.
Plus, Amsoil is green!!

I use Redline MT-90 in both my non LSD transaxles with great success. I also noticed a huge difference compared to the dino oil that was in there before. Shifting smoothness was enahanced immediately! I run Amsoil motor oil, so I wil give their new Severe Gear 75W-90 (replaced the Series 2000 Racing line gear lube) a try when the time comes. It is rated for a GL-5 but can be used in a GL-4 type application. See here: https://www.amsoil.com/storefront/svg.aspx
