Need some parts
 

Hey guys,

I'm going through the S2 getting ready for the next DE. She doesn't need much except a couple oddball things to be in perfect shape.

First I need a rear hatch release cable. Not sure if they're different from the early to late cars but I imagine they are. My motor is fine but the cable broke off of the end loop that connects to the motor and my attempt at repairing it failed. I just need the cable and I guess the associated bracket.

Also my driver side power window mechanism is broken again. The last time when it had some broken teeth my dad welded some new ones on there and it's been working great for 2 years, but I think they finally broke again so I figure it's time to just replace it.

If anybody has this stuff please e-mail or PM me with how much you want for them. They need to work on a '90 944 S2, but I assume these parts are universal past 85.5 at least.

Quick question: Is the window regulator the same for early and late 944s? There's some fairly cheap ones on Ebay right now that I might bid on if nobody on here has one from a parts car.

I have not looked at the rear hatch cable but you may want to. I know that the front hood cable on my '83 looked "JUST LIKE" bicycle brake or shifter cable and housing. You could pick it up pretty cheap in bundle through a cycling shop but you will have to run the strand.

Maybe try giving George at 944ecology a call he may have all the things as well as info that you need.
