Default Solid Motor Mounts

What would be the advantage/disadvantage of solid motor mounts instead of the hydraulic or rubber ones. It would seem to me that they would last longer (and they are cheaper...), so why would I not want to do this?

(1) You'll transfer more vibration to the frame - possibly weakening things
(2) You'll transfer more chassis impacts / vibrations to the engine - possibly breaking things.

I don't think anything "good" is going to be cheaper - look at the Lindsey super mounts. . . Those would be fantastic on a track car but I doubt I'd ever use 'em on the street.

Sit in a race car and find out.

If your car is 100% track then it might make sense. If you drive it on the street at all, don't do it.

The Lindsey Supermounts are a great solution but they are pricey. Solid mounts are only for the most hardcore folks. FWIW, solid mounts should come with a tube of Loctite. I am planning on using them but I have to be honest, if I dont like it I am very adept at switching them out.
