Default 1987 924S Parting Out

Hey guys! I'm a 924board member, but I've been spending a lot of time over here lately because there's obviously a lot more 2.5-ers over on this site.

Just wanted to let everyone know I've got a 1987 924S that I'm parting out. As of this moment, the car is complete and was actually running until a cracked cylinder put her out of commission. I have more time and money in this car than I care to think about and I see no light at the end of the tunnel with this one, so I'd just like to get rid of her -in pieces or as a whole.

Points of interest: Head had new valve assemblies installed in 2002 and has less than 3,000 miles on those pieces. Everything from the 2.5 is available EXCEPT the oil pan, water pump, timing components and cam tower.

Brand NEW Sach's clutch kit installed during the rebuilding process. Since I learned that the #2 cylinder was junk DURING the process, the clutch is still literally brand new.

Remanufactured power steering rack with brand new tie-rods and tie-rod ends. Brand new starter. Brand new brake master cylinder. Brand new clutch master cylinder. All of these parts have, literally, zero miles on them.

New inserts installed in the struts back in July of this year. Basically everything on the car mechanically is in pretty good condition. Body is fair and Guards Red. Interior is black and complete and everything works, although the dash IS cracked and the driver's side seat has a split seam.

If there's something you want/need, let me know. You may e-mail me or private message me. garthfan0523@hotmail.com I am in Western Massachusetts.

Thanks!!!

In the event that you decide to keep it, I've got a spare block I'll sell ya for about $50.00+shipping. all cylinders are good, except for #1, which has a scratch, but that can be honed out if necessary.

neon-

No mats, sorry. I have a brand spanking new starter that I'll let go for $75 (paid $120 after core refund) and a used -but good-working- one for $25. Plus shipping.

yield- I'll check on those grommets.

Porschephile- I appreciate the offer, but I'm letting this one go. Making way for another "S" and a 325i.

I can use the snowflake button to the A/C (assuming they are the same on 924s vs. 944s)! PM me with a price if you wanna sell it.

Porscheophile- The hood is actually in pretty good shape...with one exception. I don't know if this is common with these cars or not, but apparently the coolant resorvoir sits a hair too high and has been nudging the hood all these years. Finally, it bumped the underside enough to make the paint peel off in the shape of a teardrop roughly the size of a half-dollar right over that spot. The padding is still present and in good shape on the bottom side, too.

Clutch is brand new. Sach's spring-type. I paid $415. I'll let it go for $300 plus shipping.

The strut inserts were installed in August of this year. I honestly don't remember the brand but I know they're the first ones recommended at the parts counter at Advance Auto. I want to say they're a Monroe variant. I'll take $40 for both strut assemblies WITH springs. Plus shipping.
