Urgent My car won't rev past 1500
I went to leave this morning and my car won't rev past 1500-2000, if i keep my foot on the pedal it just revves to 1599 and stops, then when it gets back to around 900 it does it again I am trying to drive home right now, it worked last night and this morning it didn't. would a clogged fuel filter do that. i checked the dme relay it wasn't that.
by the way does anyone need a 951, it has a rough body, but mechanically (other than this) it is good. it has a new head and clutch. it could be a good track car, it has a rebuilt title. its yours for 6000. i have put $7K into it in the past 2 years.

cap rotor plugs, are new, if they were bad wouldn't the car not even run. everytime i figure out and fix one problem another one pops up and i can't afford it anymore, i am selling it to pay off my debt, but i don't think i will find any other car that will sattisfy me.

it has a rebuilt title, not a salvage title. yes the body is rough, but around here it is tough to find even a running car for less than 7000 I am just trying to sell it for what i paid for it. and it has all (almost all) the bugs worked out of it now. the entire charging system was messed up and the clutch was old, it may not be as nice as yours, but it is on its way, how much money have you put into yours, I am also not asking as much as you are either.

Mine did that about 5-6 years ago. It would rev up to about 2000 and then would drop back to idle. It was the throttle position swith. Once it was replaced I haven't had any more probs.

JJ, it was a joke, I have more than 10K in the engine bay. However, pigs would fly before you got that much for a rough, rebuilt (which means the same to people as salvage, maybe worse because it was reconditioned and lord only knows how. I.e. bought in one state titled in another) title, car that essentially doesnt run. Granted prices are higher in the Northeast. To be honest, I would be shocked to see someone pay more than 4K if the interior were perfect.

TPS... the dme is thinking the throttle is closed all the time. Not sure if you can just unplug it and see if it runs then, but it's pretty easy to try. They do fail every now and then...

Yup, when my TPS failed my car wouldnt rev at all, it was sparactic however..but the problem was there.
I think they are about a 100 bucks, could be wrong...its been awhile.
