Default Replacement windshield washer hose -- where can I buy a few feet?

My windshield washer hose is brittle and kind of gnarly looking. I just replaced my washer tank cap and would like to replace this hosing as well. My local NAPA doesn't seem to carry it.

Has anyone found a good replacement for this stuff? I think that about 6 feet would do it, and it certainly seems pretty generic.

Wierd that NAPA didn't have it. i would think you should b able to get it at pretty much every local autoparts store. Maybe try a couple different stores?

I've seen similar hose at Home Depot, I can't promise it's the same diameter, but I think they had a few different spools of the stuff so it may be worth a try.

Default Windshield Washer Hose

I recently replaced my windshield washer tubing. Ordered it from McCaster-Carr online. Go to page 82 of their catalog --Beverage and Food Braid-Reinforced PVC tubing. The size you want is the 3/16" ID. Also, use OETIKER clamps (check the internet). I also replaced the one-way inline valves. Got them from Pelican parts. Inexpensive. Now my washer system works like new. The new hose dresses up the engine compartment too.

How many feet did you order?

A couple of friends of mine use the same silicon vacuum hoses on the engine for the windshield washers. Work great for emergency repairs!

That isn't too bad for silicone hose; I might have to check that out. . .

Talking Part Found!

Your local pet store has plenty of 1/4" OEM windshield washer tubing. Its labeled in the pet store as "Air Pump Line Tubing", sold for $4 for 8' worth. This way- Porsche AG receives no royalty on multi-use parts such as this. The tubing is a tight fit on check valves, and will not turn yellow either. Do I hear a possible Petco broup buy???

McMaster.com is the web address. In the Find Products search field, enter plastic tubing. The plastic tubing category will come up (16 pages). Click on the + symbol, look below for the Braid-Reinforced PVC Tubing. This will take you to page 82 of their catalog. Scroll to the bottom item on this page--- Beverage and Food Braid-Reinforced PVC Tubing. 3/16" ID is what your looking for. Product comes in 25 ft, 50 ft and 100 ft lengths. This hose has the OEM look.

I finally got a great answer to this question -- Pelican now sells the OE washer hose for about $1.50 per meter!
