Pete, Very nice car. I was bummed when you sold your last one. I loved the look of that car and I still do. But, I have to admit that I am very impressed with the color, quality, and mods you have done. I believe you have surpassed just about every other 944 here and I hope it's everything you thought it would be. That is one truely nice car.

Beautiful,
you must now come to the MI GTG on the 30th cause I want to see that beauty in person and talk to you about how and what you did to improve on one of the best looking cars on the road.
Simply awesome.

Agreed, Perry. I give it a full woodrow myself. GREAT job with the upgrades, Pete. The wheels look GOOD, but I would leave the calipers alone. Any paint or brightwork would just draw attention to them (am I the only guy who thinks calipers should be black??), and seeing as how they DO appear small-ish now, why highlight that? Just my humble opinion.
Now, do what my dad told me the day I got my first car outta the paint shop; go put a tiny scratch in it somewhere and get over the inevetible FIRST chip/scratch/ding.
Kidding, of course.

Very sweet! I totally love that color! I like those wheels a lot too!!! I think you are just missing a 3 liter turbo kit to make that thing the ultimate road beast! Awesome results, truly worth the wait!

I got the side sills on, the M030 sway bar on, and lowered the rear with the eccentric today. I'm going to put the white gauge faces on and then I'm gonna call it a day.
I have a few more pics and I'll post them later.
Once again, thanks for the comments!

Pete:
The car looks gorgeous. I really like the front lip.
The wheel and tire combination, well...
Tire sizes: (225/40/18 front and 285/30/18 rear) you are going to be pushing quite a bit (read massive understeer). A 225 front / 245 rear combination will make the car more balanced. Plus I don't think you really need 285's in the back: there is such a thing as too much grip!
Wheels: better keep an eye on your A-arms, if you still have the aluminum stock ones: they are a weak point on our cars, and develop stress cracks over time, allowing the ball-joint to pop out. This is especially true on cars with lowered suspensions, bigger wheels, and cars that are track driven.
Do you have any rubbing issues with those wheels?
-Z-man.

Z-Man, amazingly no rubbing issues. The tire sizes weren't my choice, they came with the wheels. When these wear out I'll probably go to a 265 rear tire. As far as understeer, I installed an M030 adjustable rear sway to help balance it out. I'm also running 200 lb. hypercoils up front and Koni yellows all around. I'm keeping the stock wheels for auto-x and track use, these are strictly for street use.
I haven't really pushed it much yet, I still have to install the 968 caster blocks, Rennbay's ball joint kit, and new front sway bushings. The car really feels pretty responsive right now but it is in desparate need of an alignment which it will get after everything is installed.

Glad to hear that you won't be using those wheels on the track. Too pretty and they won't help much.
Mmmm --- suspension upgrades.... Mmmm.... Post back the results when you're done!
