Default Painted-crest Centercaps on black wheels...

Well...that's a mouth full Anyway...I used the search option but couldn't find any pictures I was looking for..

I'm going to refinish my Cookiecutters (stock but brand spanking new, is what I'm going for ) soon, and was wondering whether or not I'd like to have painted (colored) crest centercaps.

So, do you have any pics of such centercaps on BLACK rims, ie, fuchs or cookie cutters, preferably fitted on the car (Zermat Silver would be awesome )?

Thanks in advance for any input

As of now, I think the yellow/gold, black and red will be a bit "too much", but I'm not sure yet. Maybe I'll try a black center cap with a Zermatt Silber (color matched to my car ) outlinded crest, kind of like this (crappy photoshop)

@!#%^%*^&^%*

I should have them on my car right now. But I can't get TonyG to answer my damn phone calls or e-mails, when MY powder-coated black Cup wheels with Zermatt Silver lip and painted center caps are sitting in his garage and my money is sitting in his bank account. [/vent]

Hmm. Looks like another satisfied TonyG customer <insert sarcasm here>.

Here is one on graphite, close to black.

Well, I can't believe it, but about an hour after I posted my above rant, I found out my rims arrived from TonyG !!!! I am speechless at this point. I went home over lunch to look at them and they are spectacular. No pics, but they look gooooorgeous. They are going to be incredible when I get them on the car, I'll definitely post pics.

I'm still totally confused by this whole transaction. I talked to Tony probably twice a week for about 6 weeks, from when I first inquired about buying his wheels to when they got back from being refinished (why that happened is another story). Then, as soon as he actually had them in his hands ready to send, he disappeared. It took 6 weeks from when they were finished to today when they arrived. Very strange.

But, that's in the past, they're hear now and I'm jumping up and down (actually trying to dislodge any spare change, since now I have to buy tires ).

Rather than painting I've always used the 356 hood handle badges on the caps. A perfect fit and the cloisonne badges are very durable. Here's a pic of my track wheels (stacked) and another showing street Fuchs.

Wow those crests look gorgeous. Where did you get them?

Carl, what did you do to get those outer rims nice and shiny?

Brandon and Big E, please let me know when you got pics

TonD, the small crests are available from several suppliers. You might check websites for Pelican parts, Performance Products, etc.

As to the cookie cutter wheels... I masked off the center section and stripped the clear coat from the rims. They will polish out nicely with a little work, progressively finer abrasive and finished with Mother's polish.

Well, I just did it Not trying to offend ANYONE, but I decided the fullcolor crests are a bit too much for me, so this is what I did Crest-color is Zermatt Silber, same as my car. Should look great I think.

Pic taken before some minor detailing, and before clearcoat was shot

I'm in the process of refinishing my wheels (more) pics will follow, of course

I used a "paint stripper", nasty stuff in a tin can, applied with a brush. I didn't have access to this "Aircraft"-type stuff, so I bought the best I could find at a local hardware store. Works fine!

I got my inspiration and some help from this cool link:
