What size are the phone dials?

mroberts 05-01-2004 06:54 PM

Does the odometer work ? Is it possible to drop a NA speedo / odometer block into a 951 cluster ?

judd944 05-01-2004 07:08 PM

the phone dials are late offset... on an early car. check out how far in the rear one looks! Speedo only goes to 160 MPH turbos go to 180 (MY 87-89) If you have an 86 turbo it might work but then you have no boost gage.

helzerr 05-01-2004 09:01 PM

As an alternative to doing the body work on my car, I am considering purchasing a good (no dents, repairs, filler or rust) body with windshield, fenders, and door frames, and nothing else, to transfer all my good parts to during a "restoration". However, since I'm in central Florida the shipping might be excessive to make that feasible. I'd be interested to know what you think the "shell" is worth.

jonnybgood 05-01-2004 09:50 PM

I will buy the Left Front Fender. I will be in so cal in June for UCLA graduation and could pick it up then.

Also, heater control unit as long as snowflake switch is working. front engine pan, alternator air cooling duct.

bloodraven 05-02-2004 03:14 AM

how much for the hood? Just curious?

cpt_koolbeenz 05-02-2004 05:13 AM

How about the driver's fender liner?

Got the A-arms... Thanks! (There was a medium sized nick in one of them on the joint lip... Looks like it is fixable)

SoCal Driver 05-02-2004 05:24 AM

Why are you parting it out?

Campeck 05-02-2004 09:36 AM

yeah.
WHY!?

Yabo 05-02-2004 09:47 AM

eyal stay away from that trim piece.. its mine!! hehe..

Jason-85944 05-02-2004 10:08 AM

stearing wheel still available? Any cracks in the leather on it? Any of the seams coming apart?

Thanks,

MM951 05-02-2004 10:15 AM

Just wonderin why too

Also, how much for a passenger side turn singal lense, and passenger side fender?

Matt Sheppard 05-02-2004 03:08 PM

Wow, I go away for a Sat an wham!

Why parting:

It needs too much to be worth, what, $3k after I've put $1500 into it? The DMV fees would be almost $500 since it was sitting for so long. The body was sprayed poorly with bad prep work, shot brakes and struts, immoblie due to a clutch failure, wrong offset wheels . . . your getting the picture. I wanted the motor anyway for a 944-spec project (it needs belts and reseal), seats and some interior bits to finish my 2 turbos.

I need to move in a month an a half, this is the only way I knew how to get my $1500 out of it that I have into it.

Pricing: most major pricing is on the web site. I've priced things to move.

ELSSUU: $20 shipped for the trim. I have broken them removing before so I know how to do this one right- need anything else?

Phone dials are late offset on an early car and are 15 x 7 - quite strait- cracked tires good tread.

MRoberts: The gauge cluster is sold. I'd just buy a $40 gear if I were you, but I could not confirm the ODO working as the car was immobile when purchased - motor ran well though.

helzer: The body has had some bad repair work done and I would look for another candidate if I were you. If you still insist on wanting it, It would be my pleasure to give you the tub for $100 by june 1. Windshild is orig. - no cracks and w/ the antennae!

jonnybgood: fenders $50 ea. you pick up -see web site

bloodraven: hood pricing on web site

Jason-87924S : steering wheel has seams missing, no bad cuts or gouges. If interested I can send you a pic - email me.

cpt_koolbeenz: I inspected the balls as best I knew how - I'm sorry about the knick. I will replace w/ one off this car if you want. Drivers fender is strait - see pic, but I want body parts picked up. For you, I will ship this piece though. $50 + ship and box :)

Mike Markota : $10 for lense - one in bumper, right?

Everyone else:

Please, I need this car gone in 1 month - no fudging on that time and I like to help people out. I figure better you get it than a junk yard. Please look at the web site for pricing and availability. I will update with already sold items and I will deal for multiple pieces - especially if you pick up.

Matt,
From the picture it looks like the left front fender is good. I want it because I have a dent in my India Red left front and yours appears to be a bolt on. Will I need to correct bad body work or paint on the left front fender?

Pearceman3 05-03-2004 11:44 AM

DO you have the rear hatch carpet?

Matt Sheppard 05-03-2004 02:01 PM

jonnybgood: left front = drivers side yes, it's good. Capt Coolbeans has first right of refusal on it to ship though. Passenger side is not so good. As far as the repaint, the worst part of it was overspray and poor repair work on the passenger side panels, primarily in the rear. You will be able to do a sand and shoot real easily with the drivers side fender.

Rear hatch carpet is sold.

wombat7 05-04-2004 02:05 PM

What color is the interior?? if it is brown, I need the hatch cover... like the thing you pull out to hide what you have in there....

MM951 05-04-2004 03:51 PM

Hey I'll take the lense :) Yup..one in the bumper!

951Porschiste 05-04-2004 04:45 PM

I'd be interested in the directionals/cruise/winshield wiper unit and the steering wheel.

smkn951 05-04-2004 05:01 PM

i need the shift boot, arm rest if it's in good condition( no tears or cracks), lighter, visor clips
tia

Matt Sheppard 05-04-2004 07:29 PM

wombat7: Black interior w/ no luggage cover.

Mike: email me for drivers or pass.

951Porschiste: $125 for wheel and control cluster. I will email you a pic of the wheel.

smkn951: the only thing I have for you is a lighter

helzerr 05-04-2004 10:48 PM

I might be interested, since I need a windshield. I'll have to find out how much it would cost to ship. I'll try to follow up by mid-May.

RedRooster 05-05-2004 03:52 PM

Emailed you re: the transmission....
hopefully its still available?

Matt Sheppard 05-05-2004 08:38 PM

FYI : 86 trans wont mount up to an '84 mount.

GringoEJS 05-06-2004 02:58 AM

I need the A/C tensioner bar that adjusts the Alt-A/C belt. It looks like a foot long bar from the bottom of the A/C compressor to the P/S pump. (Do you know what i am talking about?)

Danno 05-06-2004 04:46 AM

Hmm how much for the whole thing? I'm looking at building a 944-spec racer...

Matt Sheppard 05-06-2004 05:03 AM

For you Dan, I'd give you a sweet deal. email me.

What's the matter? Got too much time on your hands?
