I don't know much about this car's history.
  • I know it was purchased in Colorado in 1984. Routine maintenance performed for the first 5 years of life (per dealer stamps in book).
  • Record of registration in Wisconsin in 1991 with 33,000 on the odometer
  • Title issued in Wisconsin 1994, 1995, 1999 - no change of ownership listed ?
  • Title & Ownership change in 2005
  • Title & Ownership change 2006
  • Title & Ownership change 2011 in Tennessee
  • Title & Ownership change 2018 in Michigan
  • Came into my hands
The owner I bought it from had it just for a month and needed to get rid of it because the girl (couple) who owned it just got pregnant and needed to get a larger vehicle. Somewhere along the line someone had some technical skill because there are new wheel bearings (still in the box) in the trunk, the belly pan is also in the trunk. So there has been maintenance done, just no idea what and when. I plan on logging everything in a notebook w/receipts.

Haven't had any time to work on this project due to our 2005 Cayenne S@!%$ing the bed last month and search for a replacement motor and ended up getting a "new" (2012) Cayenne as a replacement.... sigh.

Anyway, hopefully I'll have some time in the net few weeks to get the front cover off and replace the belts and water pump too. Should I do front seals at this time too?

Is there a Torque wrench(es) that anyone would recommend for general car work. I have an old swing arm torque wrench, but think I need to upgrade. How low is needed to work on this car - I saw 3 & 6 ftlb for the oil pan gasket, but that seems on the very low end for needed ftlbs.

Thanks
