Maybe?
Seriously, been having what seems like the common "sometimes the plugs fire at the wrong time when starting" issue.

This rotor has, maybe, 1000 miles on it. Opinions?

most coils like to 'see' 2k ohms either in the plug wire ends, the plugs or in some cases, the button.
see if your two cam cover halves are puffy and spotty. you may have some misalignment or miss matched parts

I'm in the middle of taking the head off to replace the head gasket. I saw coolant drops in the cylinders with borescope, though compression and leak down were good. Would this cause such difficulty in creating spark that it could do this?

to me, the '10c' implies a 1000 ohm resistor. probable a crap solder joint and spark sparky happened inside the potting. the wear point in the center isn't. see if the ball is still in the cap.
if something cost three times as much, but lasts ten times longer, there is some value there.
