Default working on timing belt...

There can be different ways to adjust the timing belt...whitch one is right?
1.spark plugs OFF the car (you have no compression)
a.turn the crankshaft slowly till rich the TDC, release pressure on it, and release the automatic tensioner.
b. turn the crank...get over tdc, return to tdc and release the tensioner...
turn 2 rotations, pass or not the tdc, release again the tensioner...

2 spark ON the car
a. turn to TDC and release the tensioner
b. get over tdc, return to TDC and release the tensioner
turn 2 rotations, pass or not over tdc, return and release...

And then a lot of combination between those. On balance belt the tensioning results and roller gaps can be even more different.

How to do it right?

I turn the engine to TDC, then back 1-1/2 teeth on the cam sprocket. I then use the factory tool to check tension. If not correct, I then loosen the auto tensioner and "index" (adjust) it as needed by use of the balance shaft wrench in the tensioner: it has two holes that accept the pins on the balance wrench. Repeat until the tension measures correctly.

So, doing this, how the automatic tensioner acts in general? It will overtension or undertension the belt? I ask all this because no tool here...

Good videos, but I must add, after doing all of this, turn at least 2 times the engine, so the belts will take their normal place on all sprockets, and then recheck all gaps and tension
