Default 944 Limited Slip Differential

I did a search and didn’t find anything on this. So we race in champ car and have gone over to the 944 platform. Our car has a limited slip differential and we are wondering if there are issues with overheating in an endurance race or if we should figure on somehow putting a cooler/heat exchanger on the car. Thank you for any assistance you can give.

Cooling is highly recommended in endurance series.
There a few aftermarket options available and a few implemented solutions on this forum. Just do a search and should see at least one properly done by Van Svenson.

I'd start by monitoring your transmission fluid temperatures to confirm that there is an issue, before going to the lengths of installing a cooler. As Dimi notes, there are aftermarket options, and there is also the original cooler option that Porsche offered. Do a search of Rennlist for Van Svenson's posting on his aftermarket set-up. Good luck!
