Default Imagine my surprise...

...drilling a seemingly harmless self-tapping screw into the frame rail on my 944 to mount something.
As soon as the screw punctured fully, soapy-smelling blue foamy mist SHOT out from the chassis rail, all over my garage wall.

...measure twice and cut once and all, and make sure the bumper shocks aren't installed if you're drilling at the front your chassis

Anybody got a spare 951 front bumper shock

Ha, just be glad it wasn't a fuel line while you were smoking...

Ahhhh, learning lessons the hard way. I do that all the time. Sometimes "learning" the same lesson, over and over again.

Had a contract for repair of local municipality PD cars back in the day.
They got in 3-4 brand new Crown Vics and sent them all to police radio install shop.
Guy did all 3-4 installations exactly the same.

1 by 1, they trickle into my shop, eventually each quit pulling.

Radio tech had drilled right into the automatic transmission cases.

Had another incident a year or two later when those window shattering hammers came into fashion.
4 PD units in one week towed in, each had the hammer and holder installed next to driver's seat by the door sill.
Yep, bolted down tight, right on top of the fuel pump harness...

Reminds me of the time my brother and I decided to tuck the bumpers on an E30. They said there might be a bit of pressurized oil, but man it went everywhere. If I hadn’t been wearing safety goggles...
