So much more than white, pearl white. These pictures really don't do the color justice. In person it is a very rich color with more depth than the standard white (not that there is anything wrong with white). All of the pearl white cars had burgundy interiors, and this one looks to be a perfect example. Originally it was rumored that only 6 of the pearl white 951s were produced, but I think that number is a fair bit higher as I have seen three in NC alone over the decades.

It's weird looking down the barrel of the starter like that. They probably should have picked a different picture of the underside to show.

Yeah that's a gorgeous car.

Nice. But I guess the current bid price indicates that already.

There were more made with other color interiors as well.

I know of two Pearl White turbos, one in our local Porsche Club in the upper Midwest, and one known in Florida near Pensacola, both with Pearl White leather (full leather) interiors. There was also a Pearl white 951 which used to travel to our track day events at BIR from Nebraska. It had black leather interior.

Ian, could you please cite for us your data on the numbers produced in Pearl White, and the burgundy interior option as being the only interior color offered ?

Already $50k and a long way to go. I think the new bar may be set for Turbo pricing by the end of this auction.

always fun to see a time machine like this!

Too bad about the one piece crossover. When it needs a clutch, add another 8 hours to the job.

It will probably end up around $70k, as there seems to be two determined bidders, but I wouldn't be surprised if this ends up being the first six figure 944 ever. I wonder if Jerry Seinfeld is having buyers remorse, having recently jumped into the 944 pool with what I bet he thought was one of the best-preserved 951 on the planet (in a ubiquitous color - Guards Red). A week later, and this gem shows up - it has to be the lowest mile 951 in existence.

Based on that thread, I would guess the Pearl White on BAT will have less miles in 5 years, as that gentleman planned to take good care of, but still drive his car sparingly.

I respect that, as these cars need to be driven, but the depreciation is STEEP for each mile added. If I had it, it would be set aside due to rarity, and I would find another garage mate with some miles that has been driven regularly.

But hey, each person should do as they see fit. Just cool to see that a few of these are still out there!

Its a real shame the rear carpet is cut up and would require replacement and possible door panel damage due to speaker retrofits. Very nice car though.

Every pearl car I have seen has also had burgundy interior. Josh has a thread documenting these cars. I wonder if this is on that list.

There was a 700mile Silver Rose that sold at an auction about 7-8 years ago for north of $70k
