Default Door lock unlocks with key but doesn’t lock

This isn’t a big deal, but I have the passenger side door lock on my car where I can unlock it with the key but can’t lock it.

Right now I just open the door and push the **** down, but it would be nice if the key worked in both directions.

I did remove the cylinder to clean it out as the original grease had solidified and jammed the mechanism. Is there any chance that I put the cylinder in upside down or something?

I will guess that the key or the tumbler blades in the lock cylinder have worn some.

I could do the same thing with my hatch lock in my 928. A couple of the blades had worn to the point that they wouldn't retract to 'flush' and allow the key to turn. I never did figure out why it could turn one way but not the other. A bit of file work got everything working properly again.

Shows how to disassemble the lock cylinder and how it comes apart and what's inside (Presuming a 944 door lock cylinder is similar).
