Default Porsche 968 - oil level light on ... block off plate ?

Hello Guys,

I'm fed up with the oil level light flashing on my dashboard. I've tried everything (checked the wiring, changed the oil sensor, inspected the dash board cluster ...) but it still pops up everything 5 sec... I've heard there is a block off plate that could solve the problem but I couldn't find the reference (OE or Aftermarket). Any idea ?

Many thanks for your help.
JR

Speaking of the oil level sensor, does anyone know of a new connector that fits it? A few years ago someone posted a Mercedes pt# that was supposed to work, but it was NLA.

it's in the PET. I would see if the engine harness plug is the culprit or the last few inches of the lead at the pan.

If the sensor isn't leaking why not just unplug the connector and either leave the circuit open or bridged as required to extinguish the light. YMMV

thanks. Will submit it to my mechanic. I’m still trying to figure out the role/location of the block off plate ...

The sensor itself could be bad.

Also let's make sure we cover the obvious - your oil level is OK? Try checking it right after shutting off the engine, on level ground.
