Default 86 944 NA mystery vacuum fitting

Can someone identify this vacuum fitting? I found this between the rear of the fuel rail, and the firewall. The hose and end of the Y fitting that are circled in yellow, are open to atmosphere, so obviously this fitting is doing nothing at the moment. The piece of the Y fitting circled in red appears to be plugged with a screw. I circled the dangling hose in blue where the other end of the hose appears to be connected to a vacuum actuator below the fuel rail that might be part of the cooling system. Can’t tell for sure. Is this related to the Y fitting and hoses? I don’t have any history from the PO on what might have been done here.

back of the cylinder head above the AOS there is a bunny-ear vacuum valve that is part of the fuel evap emissions system...very common for the ears to get broken off and hoses just plugged.

alternatively thats in the same area as a vac line that goes to the HVAC system through the firewall.
