Jalopnik did a feature on the LS3 944 I built. I thought you guys would enjoy it.

Awesome! For a race car, why not?

Anyone who dismisses an LS swap as lacking imagination, they lack the knowledge of what kind of work actually goes into performing it. No swap is anywhere near "plug-and-play" and this one looks like it took a lot of fabrication and planning, nice job as usual Van!

Nice job but I've got to ask, what did you use to paint the interior?
Also, what's the roof made from?

"So, when I have to scroll through that one guy on Rennlist who answers every well-meaning 944 technical question with “you should just give up on this hopeless complicated engine and V8 swap it,” ugh. The rage was real."

LOL. It's hard to guess who that is. </sarcasm>

Nice article!

Thanks guys! It was a fun project. Endurance race debut is next weekend at Mid Ohio.

Interior paint is "stone" paint:
Amazon Amazon

The roof is fiberglass, but there's metallic copper vinyl on top. My partner in crime, Mike, is a roofer and wanted it to look like a copper roof.

LS swapping a Porsche? Sounds like something only a fool would do.

May have to find a date that I can join the fun you guys are having. Great work as usual. I will be following your race from work unfortunately. I need to talk to Mike.

i love the green lights on the front.

did you re-use original pedals with those hydro cylinders or is it all one assembly?

It's a Tilton pedal box assembly for the clutch and brake, and a GM e-throttle pedal for the gas.
