Default Vemo Heater Core?

Hello,

Has anyone here used a Vemo heater core? It's what was sent to me from a supplier I've used a lot on E-Bay. I haven't found many testimonials on the net about them. Because of the work involved in accessing the heater core on the early cars I want to make sure it's decent.

Thank you,

Rick

Was your original so bad a radiator shop couldn’t repair it? I had my S2 core redone for about $60 vs $500 for a new oem core. Works wonderfully.

I don't think there was anything wrong with the core that was in there, I was just going to replace it because I had everything apart and it was 34 years old.

I've never seen a heater core for $500.00! I think I paid around $80.00 for the Vemo. OE ones go for a couple hundred as I recall.

Arominus,
You actually got a 944 rad re-cored?

I asked around once upon a time and was getting quotes no lower than $600 bucks, if they even could find a core to work.

Regarding the heater core, most of these items are made by 1 or 2 places and rebranded. Likely VEMO is Nissens or Spectra or somebody.
Do make sure you "flow test" it, as its a dual pass design some MFRs "forget" to put the flow divider in the end tank.

In my case it was an end tank that leaked on my heater core, they rodded it while they had it apart. its solid now.
