Basically gutted for track. Motor stock. Essentially NARA 944 spec race ready with konis, fully adjustable front camber. Racing sests. Roll bar. Removable steering wheel. On slicks currently. Race computer.
Going to hit a few open test dates at Buttonwillow and go from there. Getting licensed is certainly a goal of mine.

Oil starvation can be an issue in our engines when road racing.
In long sweeping right hand turns, (like turns 7 and 8 at Butt) racing suspension and slicks combine to peak G's and pin the oil to a large area in the left side of the pan, letting the sump draw air and ending your day, if not your season. The fix is a baffle in the pan to stop the flow to the left. If you don't want to get baffled, just make sure your oil level is absolutely top if not a little over it, every time you go out. Lindsey Racing has the baffle kit among many others. If you do end up being quite fast, don't take credit for it.. it's the car! Have fun!

So much for a 'stock' engine. This is why we ask " What are some of the modifications POs have made to the car? "
otherwise we are just wasting our time telling you about stuff that may already be done.

New to me 944 pix
Detachable Momo inside as well. I have an extra Sparco seat that I may change out as well, after trying these seats. Plexiglass side windows
I should have been more descriptive. I meant that, reportedly, per PO, the motor has not been altered. It does have an aftermarket pan, and I will determine what else has been modified today and tomorrow. It has been tough posting with my iPhone, so am going to stick with laptop from now on. I am trying to post some pix via laptop and will absolutely get a pix of oil pan area later today while I am doing maintenance 944Fest.

oil sump pix
If the pan is aftermarket and of a better design, then you should not have problems associated with the factory pan, eh? I'd like to see a pic of the aftermarket unit.

and thank you for the compliments, both of you. It is really straight, good paint. Some obvious stuff due to track use but no biggie
my late father had a 1985 924 turbo, in that very orange-red porsche color. I learned to drive stick on it. Im 51, and have wanted a 944 since the 80s. Track car? Even better. Next Friday cant come too soon. Working this weekend so cant make the HPDE at “Butt”

Yea, that is the stock pan. Early cars did not have that level sending unit above the drain plug. Here is some info from Lindsey Racing about the baffle kit.
https://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Parts/OILPANBKI.html
If you drain the oil and look in the drain plug (inspection scope) or oil level sensor hole you should be able to see the baffle if it is there, it is right in front of those holes.
I'm a big fan of the orange as well! The bottom of the engine looks nice and dry.
