Default 944 S part-out plus early-offset wheels

Hi everyone,

I have most of the parts from a 1987 944 S for sale, with the exception of the engine bay. Long story short, the car didn't make it back home with me after I bought it. Instead, the car caught fire, and most of the engine bay melted. The major engine components are still intact, though blackened. The remaining shell (rust-free and straight) with engine, steering system, and torque tube is located at a storage facility in central Ohio. PM me if you're interested; I'm waiting on a title, and if nobody is interested by then, it'll go to a junk yard hopefully within the next month. I'll consider any offer, even if you think it's a serious low-ball. I'd rather see it go to someone who will use it for something than just go to a junk yard. Interior and exterior are both black (from the factory, not from smoke). The car had cruise control and a rear wiper, but no ABS.

I have:
-most interior trim, one good pair of speakers and a Sony head unit [steering wheel, carpets, seats, dash, center mirror, door panels, HVAC controls, instrument cluster trim/vent, trim above glove box, e-brake handle sold]
-complete lock set with key (complete ignition cylinder and gas cap included, door handles sold but lock cylinders are available)
-doors, rain gutters, bumpers, functioning hood and trunk struts [hatch, fenders, roof panel and bag, one hood strut sold]
-mechanisms for the trunk latches and headlights [wiper mechanism/motor, sunroof mechanism/motor sold]
-all side markers, front turn signals [tail lights, fog lights sold]
-transaxle, shifter link rod, and drive axles/CV joints
-intake manifold, engine block, crossmember/mounts, valves/springs/some lifters [no p/s pump or alternator]
-fuel pump (no filter, no level sender) [SOLD]
-complete suspension minus dampers, which are mostly blown. This car did not have a rear sway bar, but the front is available
-all brake calipers, plus an extra (more used) pair of rear calipers
-lots of electrical connectors
Wheels sold

If you need anything specific not listed here, just let me know since this is a general list and not very specific. Prices and photos upon request; I prefer PM if possible. Parts are located in Omaha, NE, and I am willing to deliver within a reasonable drive.

-Toasty

I happened upon your posting. I need a few things for my car (1988 944).
I need the tool kit that is kept in the spare tire compartment.
I also need the A/C slide **** (I need only one).
If you have working speakers, I will take them also.
I need the rear compartment carpet. Mine is black. if yours is not, no problem, I will spray die it.
If you have the tire air compressor, I will take it. Mine works, but the cover hinge is broken.
I want a glove box that is in good shape. Mine is a bit worn.
I need the center console compartment lid.
I will take your cigarette ash box. For some reason, my is all rusty.

The best theory I can come up with is that one of the fuel lines at the front of the rail cracked or came loose and squirted fuel into the alternator. From there, it burned/melted everything that isn't metal at the front of the engine, as well as melted all of the plastic and rubber elsewhere in the engine bay. Firefighters put the fire out, but not soon enough to keep it from wreaking havoc on the engine bay. The engine itself is probably fine inside, but it would have taken far more money than the car was worth to rework everything in there.

Interested in the fuel tank sender electrical connector - the one with 3 wires, sitting on top of the tank, just below the access port in trunk.

Need the connector and 3" to 4" of wire with it

Toasty, I'll take the cylinder head less cams and lifters if price is right.

I think the price is right ($0), but the situation probably isn't: the car is in Ohio, and I'm in Nebraska and can't get out there to dismantle it any more this year, and I'd like the chassis gone before the end of the year anyway. If you (or anyone else reading) would like to pick up the chassis and engine, PM me and I'll try to work out a title for you. That's proven to be the second-worst part of this whole situation, after the car burning in the first place.
