Air conditioning not blowing cold. 89 944S2
Help with air conditioning: 89 944S2
My AC is blowing warm, compressor is turning on, pressures are good so I suspect it’s in control side. I checked the clip which always breaks, the rod was intact but not moving when switching from hot and cold. (I can hear inside the HVAC box things are moving and the temperature does change to warm (er). I pushed slightly on the rod to see if it was stuck and the clip/retainer broke (new ones on order). Should the control motor for the temperature mix flap and baffle flap (#3) move by hand or when the control head is moved from hot to cold?
Any ideas what else I can check? I pulled the vacuum line off the solenoid valve for the heating valve as Clark’s garage mentions the vacuum can be an issue, the car wasn’t running but there was vacuum held and released when I unplugged it. Would anyone have a write up as to how to check the solenoid as well?
It’s been a warm summer and I would sure like to get this sorted.
