Exclamation Sensor location

Hi All,
I'm having temp gauge issue and need to find out where the temp gauge sensor is located. Previous posts might say it's in a particular location (between no 1 and 2) but when I look there is nothing there. Or a picture showing it but it's so close up you can't tell where the camera is pointing at. Is there a sticky post that covers all models and years for the various sensor locations ?

so, Before I tear the inside apart to search for the instrument cluster grounds, I want to do the simple stuff first and make sure I have a good electrical connection and the sensor isn't bad.

thanks

Negative, there is no sensor on the right front side of the engine, for my 1983 944.
Could it be under the "J" boot?

Be sure that you realize that when referencing a part position, it's done for the driver's seat and looking out over the hood/bonnet..jus sayin to normalize more confusion...LOL!

Who's on first, What's on second, I don't know's on third. (But seriously Todd, yes, under the J boot, directly behind where the upper radiator hose connects to the front of the engine, as shown in Spencer's pic)
