Does anyone have a Blaupunkt Frankfurt 100?
When I bought my 944 it had a Sony deck in it. Flashy lights, doesn't fit the period of the car.
Original radios are crazy expensive, and not very useful. I say the Blaupunkt Frankfurt 100, it looks closer to something that might have been in the car from the factory, plus it has a SD and USB slots. I haven't seen pictures of one lit up at night, so I'm wondering if they look "right" in a 944. Anyone? Thanks. |
Eh, that still looks too modern to me. I have a Lexington CM84 and I love it, it looks great and has an aux input in the back. Recent thread about this topic: https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...ti-7412-a.html

There's one for $150 on eBay. I guess blaupunkt recycles their names because a search for "blaupunkt Frankfurt" yields a lot of units from the '60s
I agree about putting tarty new head units in these classic cars. Mine has a Kenwood something or other. I just bought a Blaupunkt Richmond because the Monterey is far too expensive. Still a Blaupunkt, still from the 80s, and the CD player is just as useless as the cassette player. There are also some nice Beckers that have an 80s-ish look but modern conveniences. |
