Default No wonder she wouldn't drive

I got my 944 up to a hoist today to rip the clutch out,
well... No wonder it wouldn't drive.

How does this even happen?

First time really working on a car too, people say it takes a while to do a clutch? But didn't take us very long at all.
Just wondering if anyone's seen this before?

very common with rubber clutch only a matter of time.you should change it for spring centered clutch.

Yeah!
I've got a Sachs clutch arriving during the week!

Working on the oil pan gasket now... And all that, big job apparently...

That is a normal failure mode for that type of clutch.

i think most folks who say clutches take a long time live in places where bolts corrode and rust in place and things get stuck.
it is kind of complicated vs other cars though.

a few days ago i had my exhaust+trans on the floor and the torque tube pulled out of the BH in maybe an hour?
though getting the BH->engine bolts is no fun with how tight the upper ones are to the firewall.

Ah yes,
I don't think there was a bolt that wasn't rushed, big long bar does the trick. Yeah that too bolt on the bell housing is very annoying. But, remove the things around it helps. Like the heater hose, wires etc.
