What's it worth?
Perhaps I should post this in the Marketplace forum but I need some opinions on what the value of I think is a unique item. Most likely this thing is as common as rain in Seattle but here it goes. I have a rear hatch from a 1989 944. I'm parting out the car and generally
base my prices off eBay. Also I compare prices on Craigslist and set values accordingly. Not a huge forum type of fellow so I had not previously considered
selling stuff through the "Marketplace" that just about every board has. Getting to the point this car has rear wiper delete. I mean this car was delivered with no rear wiper including no hole for a rear wiper. What does anyone think it's worth more or less than the typical hatch that would have a hole.
Rhanks for any input positive or negative, Cheers!

Thanks for your input, I had sold one before and listed it as a "Rear Wiper Delete" but it had a plug filling the hole. When people contacted me and I explained that well yes there was a hole I would get reprimanded for it not being a true rear wiper delete, LOL

Three Wheelin'
It is not very common,
and only came on the last of the cars .... like S2s and normal aspirated.
I have never seen a turbo or 951 without a rear wiper except in CUP cars for the track. And those were smooth glass.
The first cars all had plugs of one type or another if not equipped with a wiper. Some were black anodized aluminum, some black stippled aluminum, some smooth with a spun appearance to the metal. Then there were nylon or plastic plugs.
So the folks that were berating you about it not being a true rear wiper delete were blowing smoke.
Only the last cars built had smooth glass.
Or had the hatch replaced because it broke, with a smooth glass.

Almost all 76-81 924's and 931's had smooth glass unless the car was optioned with a rear wiper. By the time the 944 rolled around, they figured it was just easier to make all the hatches with holes until 89 when they brought back the hole-less wiper delete glass.

This is the build sticker of the smooth glass car I have. It was in a front end collision with air bags deployed. The car had been rebuilt about 6-7 years ago and carries a Salvage Title. The airbags where never replaced and the repairs were marginal at best. I got the car at a price that I feel is, well worth the drive train and the rest of the M030 stuff.

So to answer the next question voluntarily, I'm parting the shell out because in order for me to title the car in the state I live in it must have functioning airbags and I'm thinking iit isn't with repairing/replacing the air bag system including sensors and all the associated stuff.
Im just after the runinning gear to put in my ' 92 968.
oh and yeah I'm the guy who is the proud owner of the
Mazda powered 968. I'm ressurecting it back to all proper Porsche parts! Long gone is the eneemic FD twin rotor front transmission and RX-7 IRS center section.

in 12 years of being around 944s and having worked on several dozen and seen many more than that i think i've seen maybe 3 cars TOTAL that actually had the rear wiper installed, and all were NA.
everything else had a plug, 951, 968, S2, S, NA, whatever.
