Oil in intake in fast driven left hand corners
Hello everyone,
i got a problem that i could not find similar posts to.
When i am autocrossing or on the race track and i drive long left hand corners my 944 na 1983 euro model sucks in massive ammounts of oil threw the air oil seperator so that huge clouds of withe smoke come out of the exhaust. This only happens when the oil is more than half full and when i drive semi slick tires. Then i have to refill a some oil after 30min driving. It simply sucks it in.
The aos got nes seal 2 years ago. The engine runs otherwise fine, no measureable oil consumpion when normal driving, not very much blowby gases when opening the oil cap and give it full throttle.
As i could not find any other posts regarding to this problem i think something is wrong with my car.
Has anyone else ever experienced this? It only happens in really long left handers.
Best regards
Chris

This is an article that might shed some light:

I've heard both the 944 and 928 have oil starvation problems in long left turns at high Gs (slicks, semi-slick, high grip tires, over .96 lateral).
I don't understand the smoke part though. From what I've read the symptom is a #2 rod bearing failure on the 944.
Just a thought,
Scott.

Drifting
turning left should shift the oil to the right side of the motor. I would look for other vacuum leaks
you might add some type of stainless steel mesh/wool into the bottom of the aos to trap droplets
