Default Bent balance shaft

Hey guys,

Anybody seen this before ?
My engine locked up on me during a race last year and from what it appears, the balance shaft housing just exploded ...
The timing and balance shaft belts only had three race weekends on them.I'm pulling the engine out today and from what i can see at first glance , the balance shaft is bent , just
curious as to what may have caused this.I'm hoping the pistons and my ported head survived !

No flakes in the oil or filter which is a good thing ... i'll be tearing the engine apart this afternoon once it's out, just have the four engine mount bolts to remove.
The rear end locked up on me at 94 mph at full throttle in 4th gear as per my data, did three 360's on the track before ending up on the grass, didn't
even have time to scare myself !!!

OK, looks like the top end is good to go ... no valve or piston damage , curious as to what the crank and #2 rod bearing will look like ?
Too bad the block is now a boat anchor as my bores looked real good also ...

Will update on the #2 rod bearing when i get to it !

I would plug the oil passages to the balance shafts and run that bitch... My car has them fully deleted and it's been fine for years as a street car.
