Looking great! It makes me remember when I had the chance to buy a factory two-tone green and silver with Pascha interior 924 Turbo for cheap. All it needed...was everything, but it would have been awesome.

I ruined my rear deck carpet last season

I think he might be referring to the rear seat backing or the big rear hatch carpet? That's my guess. I've still got everything I took out except the driver side front carpet (I kinda messed it up removing it). Two spare rear carpets too.

The big rear hatch floor carpet with the spare tire bump..
I forgot my battery was just sitting back there, not secured in its spot, was too anxious for a little test drive, battery fell on its side, leaked a little, and the acid melted a good spot in my carpet, lol..
Your car is looking great BTW!
I had my interior gutted a long time ago to fix my rusty battery box leak, one of the first things I did when I got my car, and I threw away all of the padding or sound dampening stuff under the carpets.
When I put my floor carpets back in, and still to this day, it doesn't fit as perfectly as it once did because of the difference with all of that padding under it removed, so maybe that is why your new carpet doesn't fit perfect if you didn't put all of that padding back in also..

Mine were wet too.. Had a bit of a leak..
Fixed it tho..
That pic was just the test fit and drilling the holes.. It all came back out, cleaned up, seam sealer, and painted..
Without the padding my carpet is kinda hollow underneath on the sides where it tucks under the door sill trim.

you should do a "club sport" style interior and get rid of the rear seats, and go to a fabric store and get some plaid for the door cars like some of the 70s/80s Porsche plaid interiors. fix the dash and flock it. (and for the love of god get rid of the carpet on the center console!)
Also you should do a 3" exhaust, since its basically the same turbo as the 951 (sorta) and a FMIC

From Dolomite Grey to Monaco Blue!!
Picked her up from paint Friday and started the rebuild! All the lights (not the headlights) are back in and working; even my backup lights started working for the first time this year! As for the color, best Porsche decision I've ever made.
Hopefully this time I'll get my headlights functioning properly.

WOW
The exterior is fully back together and it looks F'ing amazing! When I tell people I took it to Maaco, they're stunned. While your results at different Maaco franchises may vary, this is enough proof that they can spray paint, but all the prep you do yourself is the deciding factor in the quality of the job.
This car is an absolute joy to drive. My old 944 couldn't compare to this. A few suspension tweaks and an alignment are in order in the next few weeks but this car, I love it. If someone told me I'd own a Turbo Porsche before turning 24, I'd ask them "what 911" and if they were insane. And here I am with this.
And for anyone wondering about the rear decal, I sent my friend a vector image of one of the early production decals that's NLA from Porsche and we cut our own decals for it.
