Default Transporting a hood?

I may need to transport a 944 hood 50 miles, I seem to remember seeing a picture of a hood in the back of a 944. Is my memory playing tricks on me, or is it doable?

Yes, quite do-able.

Release driver and passenger seat backs and tilt forward.

Face the back of the car with the hatch open.

Place the hood right side up with the curved windshield edge to the right (passenger side) and gently slide it in.

You may have to move the driver and passenger seats slightly forward or upright, depending on where you have them set.

Put a blanket or other soft material between the hood and seats and pointy corners, and you're ready to travel!

He's in the UK. Does that mean he has to do the reverse of that?

Yeah turn the car upside down first.

Or use a truck.

No, the windshield edge of the hood has a curve that conveniently wraps around the fuel filler neck on the passenger side. Same instructions.

But if the fuel filler neck was on the driver's side, yes.

Rear hatch glass fits in the back also.

Thanks Paul. Does it come out as easily too, I've never been much good at puzzles .

Put foam or cardboard on hood, place another hood on top of that, use a lot of duct tape, close the double decker - Go.

That's sounds so totally redneck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hope you have good insurance coverage.

Yes, it slides in without any interference so it is easy to lift up and slide out.
However, it is always good to have some one help you by holding the hood edge that's in the car, but you can put it in and lift it out OK by yourself.

Thanks again Paul. I wouldn't try and get the hood in and out on my own, my back would let me know about that for days afterwards .
