When I open my driver's side car door and the door sort of falls about 1/4" or slightly less. It doesn't cause any problems but now that it is winter I'm in the house more I'd like to fix all of the minor problems with my car.

Take a hard look at the door and body and see if you can find any cracks around the hinges.

Also check to see if there is any play in the door hinge pins. With the door almost closed lift up on the handle.
