Super sluggish 944 N/A

Yeah for sure and I really appreciate you sharing it on the forum. Different ideas is what we need
On a side note the fuel pump that I bought was a 30 pump vs the more expensive Porsche or Bosch pump, maybe it's faulty or doesn't meet the specs.
Here's the one that I bought.

Since the fuel pump and filter are already replaced, I'd suspect that little fuel strainer in the tank or maybe the check valve being gummed-up from the 7yr old fuel might explain the low flow rate. Still, I would have expected the fresh fuel flowing through it to start dissolving the varnish by now....

UPDATE
Vandal968 was absolutely correct about the problem being a clogged fuel strainer. I repeated the flow test and it filled up a 2 liter bottle in about 40 seconds. So me and my dad went for a test drive and it felt slightly more responsive however throttle response was still very lacking.
I read some threads about DMEs causing running problems very similar to the ones I'm having so I decided to resolder my DME point by point, joint by joint. I was very careful not to cross solder anything, but when I put the DME back the car won't even start. I checked for spark and sure enough, no spark. Now I'm thinking resoldering the DME was a mistake.
If anyone has a DME new or used, for sale for a reasonable price, I would be interested.

Ok, so I found out that I had cross-soldered one of the joints on one side of the DME, after I unsoldered it the engine fired up. So The DME could still be at fault but at least now I know that it probably doesn't have a cracked solder joint. In addition I tested the spark of each of the cylinder with an in-line spark tester and the light appears to be weak. So then I tested the ignition coil according to this test https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...eplacement.htm
The resistance between the two terminals was 0.4 ohms and the resistance between output terminal and the green (negative) terminal was 4000 to 5000 ohms.
Barely within spec so maybe I should buy a new ignition coil?
Thanks

Thanks
So yesterday I did a compression test and all cylinders made about 130 psi. I know I'm getting fuel pressure and fuel flow, so the next thing to check was the spark, and I seem to be getting a weak spark out of the coil so today I'm going to replace it and I update back here on if it works out.

I've looked suspiciously at my coil MANY times over 25 years of 944/968 ownership. For me, so far, it's never been the coil. That's never stopped me from testing it, or swapping with another to see if anything changes, but for me, so far, it's never been the coil.

Vandal968 was correct about the coil, I went ahead and replaced it and the engine idles a whole lot smoother but still drove sluggish. I went ahead and tested the wires and all the spark plug wires tested at about 3000 ohms. However the wire from the ignition coil to the distributor tested at
Also odurandina was correct about replacing with a v8 does anyone know where I can find an ls1, lol just kidding.

Ok so finally an Update and finally a solution, so I think the original problem was a clogged fuel strainer, and a weak coil. After I replaced the coil the car has really come alive. In addition it feels much more responsive and goes when you tell it to. I just put new tires and the car feels super smooth now. I think I can finally say thanks to all the helpful people on this wonderful forum this thread is finally consider solved. Thank you guys very much.
