Default Another wheel question

Does anybody know if 16" phonedials (7" fronts 8" rears) from an '86 turbo will fit my '87 944S. Fronts have 205-55-ZR16 and rears have225-50-ZR16 on them.

thanks

No, the early offset of the 86 wheels cannot be adapted to a late car; it works the other way though if you have late offset you can use them on the 86 with spacers

The 86 turbo is the early offset. the 87 and later are the late offset.
The N/A changed in 85.5 I believe.

You would be incorrect. They ALL change in MY1987. The change was for the ABS setup. Not all care have ABS but they changed the suspension in all cars.

Sounds like they have the wheel question covered.

Are you a Jeeper? I have a 99 TJ that I rock crawl with.

While we're on it, anybody know the offset(s) for an '86 911?

They are "early" offset cars as well. So many different options on those it would be nearly impossible to tell. A good clue is, if Fuchs fit on it, it is an early offset car.

Maybe I am searching for something that doesn't exist. Were phonedials made for late offset cars?

Yes they were made for later cars. The later phones have a much narrower lip and don't look as deep set as the pre-87 due to the wider offset. I think the 86 Turbo phones in 7 and 8 were the nicest looking ones made.

As Steve says, yes they were made, they look like crap compared to the 7/8 86 951 PDs, however!
