Is the Passat transmission an LSD as well as being a 6 speed?

Good question! Not sure if there was a performance oriented version with an LSD...

I have no idea about that, perhaps the Audi lsd bolts on since the "same" gearbox is used on some Audis as well.

Needs a Quaife unit, and then it`s good to go.

I have thought this for many years, the 987 boxster transmission input shaft is laid out exactly like the 944. It shouldnt be to hard to make some thing similar.

We ran our various motors through the 968 6 speed box. All of them had North of 500whp and thus far no issue with the transmission. Take that for what it's worth. Didn't see a lot of high mileage and NO hard launches.
Only mods were some improved oiling, oil cooling and a billet side plate for the gearbox. All the internals are stock.

Maybe I can break up the kit and not include the linkage.
