Default 1986 NA Engine Stumble

Hey all,

So my 1986 NA 944 was running well recently. I recently replaced the battery, the plug wires and the crank position sensor (all back in Spring). I gave the car a bath last night, and right afterward tried to start the car. The car has a bad stumble, almost like it is on three cylinders. I'm wondering if water got somewhere that it shouldn't and is causing the issue (seems like too much of a coincidence). Can anyone suggest where I should be looking for accumulated water? Anything else I should check before towing the thing off to the mechanic?

Still messed up tonight. The wash may have just been coincidence.

The tach has been jumping around (sweeping up and down) while driving at steady highway speeds, so maybe it’s a voltage regulator issue?
