Default ergness...may have to sell...don't want to...

Well, I may have to sell, but god do I not want too. Car is still overheating....I have some sort of gas leak, and now I think my suspension is going bad. I was just going out for a drive when I heard something from my front wheels that sounded like a seal barking. Got home and pushed down a bit on my front end and heard distinctly from both tires what sounded like bad springs...can't really tell, but I know it doesn't handle the way its supposed to...

so, does anyone have any suspension parts they would like to donate?? If not, then I don't know when I will be able to get this thing running the right way...my wallet is growing slimer and my patience is getting slim...I love my car to death...even in the condition it is...but I just wish I could catch a friggin break with it. It might be on the market before too long.

I might also have a pair of stock front springs.

i know exactly how you feel. that's the reason i sold my 951 - multiple little things that added up to a big fat check. if i knew then what i know now...

anyway, i have a pair of springs from my 944S. they are surely softer than your stock turbo springs, however (maybe 140# vs 160#)

Angry No more "951" for U !!!!!

BloodRaven,

If you can't afford to maintain a P-car or any car for that matter, please sell it before it turns into another "parts only" car.

If you are not financially stable enough to own and up keep a 951, maybe a leased 2004 Hyundai or Kia(under $175/month) is better choice for you.

This is a perfect example of "champagne dreams with beer money".

I honestly don't think it is "bad springs".

If your struts are original, they are surely shot. Also, you may have some worn out bushings on the sway bar, although I have never heard of them making noise in the manner that you described.

Another thing to check would be the strut bearings.

Good luck!

Hey Imo000,

Pretty judgemental, why kick a guy when he is down?

With your ill will I suggest you keep an eye on your cam chain tensioniers. Life has a way of equalizing us all.

Stick to your 928 forum next time.

Imo000, I second the previous response. Bloodraven, unlike yourself, has posted here for a long enough period to be known by some of us and his posts are appreciated - try not to rain on his parade; who knows when you'll be feeling down and out about something. Maybe the next time you get upset about the expense of owning the porsche we'll all tell you to sell and get a Kia.
Flame me if you want - but this forum is based on the premise that we are friendly and helpful, not critical and rude.

ok,ok, you guys.

first of all, what is actually wrong with the car? guys offering you springs isn't going to fix anything. what is actually broken/worn?

secondly, I don't entirely disagree with Imo000. I mean, it hurts to have to shell out bucks to get your car right, especially if you aren't financially up to it. But I read far too many posts whining about it.

Figure out what is wrong and how to fix it inexpensively, or sell, or whatever. I didn't hear a very good description of the "problem" in the original post, just a profession of love and regret, and whatever.

No offense to anyone intended.

Seal barking - when the wheels are turning? Does it change speed with roadspeed? Is it during braking? Cornering? Over bumps?

Where is your gas leak? Stains on the intake manifold? Smell it when the sunroof/windows are open and the tank is full?

Why is the car overheating? Are the fans cycling? Has the cooling system been bled? Are you seeing coolant under the car? Is it actually overheating? Is the needle crossing the uppoer white mark? Does it register the same with the lights on/off, car running/shut off?

ETC!

If you want to fix it, let's hear it.
