Washer reservoir removal
I've read a few posts on the procedure, all saying it comes out the bottom. Ok, cool, but no one mentions getting g it past this duct. There doesn't seem to be any way to angle it back enough to pass behind it. What's the trick?

It's part of a Holbert Cool Brake kit.

It'll come out of the top.
If you are getting rid of it for good, cut the tab in your picture that goes over the stud.
If you want to get it out the top and reinstall it, take a hacksaw blade and cut a shallow line across the tab as close to the reservoir as possible. This will allow you to crease and bend the tab along that line. With the tab held folded across the reservoir it will slip out through the top.

Back from the dead
Well, my marine epoxy fix finally failed, and worse than that, there's something growing in the bottom of my reservoir. So I decided to start fresh and just buy a new reservoir. I grabbed one on Pelican that says it was compatible with my chassis, but unfortunately it's not exactly the same as the original. As you can see below, there's no more nubbins to hold the old windshield pump, the orifice for the headlight pump is no longer capped, and there's a new hole towards the bottom. So I ask you, rennlist, what do I need to make this new reservoir functional? Is there a new style pump that goes with this one? Are there caps for the extra hole? Thanks.

That's the version of tank I believe for a later model like '90 or '91 with headlight washers. There's an updated windshield pump that mounts in that lower front hole. Then a cap for the lower drain. Don't see any parts in the PET catalog for a headlight washer plug. Maybe find a rubber plug that fits tight enough to seal and not leak.
You could add headlight washers if you wanted to. I bought all the parts to add them to my Turbo, just need to install them. I've always thought they were cool!
