not the odometer gear broken, another one in there Help
My odometer stopped working today.
Took it apart and noticed that the odometer gear is new, it is green(not my pic here)
But the gear that the odometer gear turns against (highlighted here with a red arrow has 2 broken teeth on the outer ring. So, when the odometer gear gets to that point, it stops working spinning.
So, can I buy this gear somewhere? And what is this gear called?

you'll have to count the teeth and order the correct tooth count. You can find them here:

If it looks new maybe it broke because they put the wrong gear in?? I bought both and when i opened mine up the gear was literally dust and had disintegrated. Took a 50/50 shot and threw one in there and it seems to work fine now. I have a spare blue if you need but seems to be that the green one might be the correct one.

Odometergears.com only sells the one labeled "odo gear" they don't show the one I have the arrow pointing to.
Anyone have any other advice on where to buy?

I've never heard of any resource for the other gears inside of odometers (the white plastic ones), just for "main" one (gummy orange from the factory, or colored/white plastic from aftermarket).
I'd either buy a used speedometer to get the gear out of it, or better yet, go to a junkyard and disassemble the speedo to get the gear that you need. I've found that VDO often used the same parts in lots of speedos and odos, but you might have to take apart a dozen or more to find just the right gear, so you'd better just stick with finding a 944 at the junkyard.
